Kay Sullivan

My drawings and paintings are meditations, observations on the familiar and the passing of time. Living in rural Maine, I have found delight in witnessing nature’s transformation, its cycles and seasons here at home. I have come to recognize early signs of change: an angle of light, a warming just before spring, the fading of late summer. Emphasizing marks and pattern, I strive to maintain a balance allowing my subject to emerge with my materials.
