Debie Green

I have no deep philosophical prospective of my artwork other than:

“If it pleases me, I hope it pleases you and ‘that’ pleases me too!”

I grew up in Round Pond, Maine, on the beautiful Pemaquid peninsula, daughter of a musical mother and boatbuilder/designer father with the inspiration of the many harbors, villages and, of course, the famous Pemaquid Lighthouse.  As a child I began drawing right alongside my dad at the kitchen table, “designing” boat interiors. As I got older my interest expanded and I discovered painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, weaving and even tried my hand at stained glass.

In 1989 my family and I settled into the old family homestead in Tenants Harbor after years of owning a couple businesses and living up and down the Eastern US for my husband’s work.  Now, in my retirement, I am enjoying setting up a studio, devoting more time to my artwork and looking forward to this new chapter of my life.  My recent work in Tempera & Ink is a technique learned in my younger years and now revisited!   I love painting and drawing, but don’t be surprised to see several other mediums show up from time to time.

Enjoy
